Backhand Pass Box

U10U12Cross-Ice / Small AreaBeginner1v0Passing
Objective: Backhand passing repetitions in a box — the pass most young players avoid until it costs them. Setup: Four players on the corners of a 25-foot box, one puck. Execution: Move the puck around the box — every pass on the BACKHAND, no cheating to forehand. Ten around one way, then reverse so both angles get worked. Progress: one-touch backhand, then receivers take a step off the corner to make it moving. Coaching points: Cup it, look, push THROUGH the target — backhands fail when you flick. Puck at the middle of the blade, hands away from the body. Receivers help: blade on the ice, call, and give a real target.
