Backward Circle Ladder

Full IceIntermediate1v0Skating/Edges
Objective: Backward crossover power around the circles, strung into one continuous ladder down the ice. Setup: Line of players in the corner. Uses the near end circle, the center circle, and a sprint finish. Execution: Backward crossovers all the way around the near circle, then push backward up ice. Around the center circle backward the OTHER direction, then continue up ice. Pivot forward at the far blue and sprint through the cone. Next player leaves at the first circle exit. Coaching points: Reach and pull with the outside blade — backward crossovers are a pulling motion. Alternate direction circle to circle so both sides work. Heads on a swivel: backward skaters who can't look get burned.
