Clear It Under Fire

D-ZoneIntermediate4v2Penalty KillBackcheck/D-Zone
Objective: Two hundred feet of relief in one touch — rep the shorthanded clear with real PP pressure closing. Setup: Two killers low, four power-play players in an umbrella. Coach spots pucks to the killers anywhere in the zone. Execution: Coach spots a puck; the nearest killer has one touch to relieve pressure. Legal options in order: glass and out, hard rim, ice it. Never a soft chip up the middle. PP pressure closes instantly on every spot — killers rotate every six pucks. Coaching points: Eyes up before the puck arrives: know your clear before you touch it. Off the glass beats off the boards — height clears sticks. Ice it without shame when you're in trouble; a faceoff beats a chance against.
