Crease King
U14U16U18D-ZoneAdvanced1v1Battles/CompeteBackcheck/D-Zone
Objective: King of the crease: 30 straight seconds of net-front war while real point shots rain in — tips, screens, box-outs, rebounds. Setup: One attacker vs one defender at the net-front, goalie live, point shooter with a pile of pucks. Execution: Attacker fights to own the edge of the blue paint — screen, tip, rebound on every point shot. Defender's job: move him out or take his stick before each shot arrives. 30-second rounds; a tip or rebound goal counts double, a clean clear-out earns the defender the point. Coaching points: Attackers: wide base, one hand free to fight, stick ALWAYS on the ice for the tip. Defenders: hips first, stick lift timed to the shot — not a wrestling match all round. The battle resets every shot — win the half-second before the puck arrives.
