D-Zone Faceoff — Win & Loss Reactions
D-ZoneIntermediate5v5FaceoffsBackcheck/D-Zone
Objective: The five seconds after a D-zone draw decide the shift — script the win AND the loss. Setup: Full alignment at a defensive-zone dot. Coach drops pucks; run both outcomes. Execution: Win: C draws hard to D1's corner-side hip; D1 skates it behind the net and the breakout begins. Loss: C ties up the opposing stick, wingers explode to the points, D2 fronts the net. Alternate scripted win / scripted loss / live draws. Coaching points: Everyone moves on puck-drop — standing still is a scoring chance against. Wingers' first two strides are AT their point man. C never loses the tie-up battle even when losing the draw.
