Deny the Slot Feed

Objective: Goals against come from the slot feed, not the wall — front the shooter and kill the lane before the pass leaves. Setup: One attacker on the wall with pucks, one attacker in the slot. D defends the feed; a center supports the wall. Execution: Wall attacker looks to feed the slot man on the coach's timing. D fronts the slot: body between puck and man, stick flat in the passing lane. Feed intercepted = kill it to the wall; feed completed = live until the whistle. Rotate every four reps. Coaching points: Defend the pass BEFORE the man — the lane closes first, the tie-up comes second. Keep your head on a swivel: touch the man, see the puck. Interceptions die on the wall or the glass — never fumble in the house.
