Escape Moves at the Dots
Neutral ZoneFull IceIntermediate1v0Puck ControlSkating/Edges
Objective: Escape pressure with a controlled tight-turn — the move that buys a half second everywhere on the ice. Setup: Players with pucks, using the four neutral-zone dots as pressure points. Execution: Carry to each dot at speed; at the dot, execute a full escape turn (sell the cut, spin off). Alternate turn direction at each dot; protect the puck with the body through the turn. Finish the length with a shot on the far net. Coaching points: Head and shoulders sell the first direction — then spin opposite. Puck on the backhand, body as the wall. Exit every escape with two explosive strides.
