Exit the Cycle

D-ZoneHalf IceAdvanced3v3Backcheck/D-ZoneBreakout
Objective: Kill the cycle at the bump — the winger jumps the wall exchange and the zone flips in two seconds. Setup: Three attackers cycle the corner and wall; three defenders (D pair plus winger) defend and look to exit. Execution: The attackers cycle: wall bump behind the first man to the second arriving. Our winger reads the bump and jumps the exchange spot — the puck never reaches the second man. One touch to the center in the middle and the unit exits with control. Turnover = attackers keep cycling. Coaching points: The bump spot is predictable — sit on it instead of chasing the carrier. First touch after the steal goes to the middle, away from the pile. D2 stays home on the slot man the whole time; the steal means nothing if the house is open.
