Figure-8 Tight Turns

Cross-Ice / Small AreaBeginner1v0Skating/EdgesPuck Control
Objective: Tight turns under control — with the puck, both directions, head up. Setup: Two cones ~20 feet apart per station. One player per station, puck each. Execution: Skate a figure-8 around the two cones for 30 seconds. Puck stays on the OUTSIDE of the turn (backhand through one turn, forehand the other). Race variation: two players, opposite starts, first to 5 laps. Coaching points: Sit low into the turn — inside edge of the outside skate does the work. Puck slightly ahead, body between cone and puck. Accelerate OUT of every turn — two hard strides.
