Four-Dot Tight-Turn Box

O-ZoneHalf IceIntermediate1v0Skating/Edges
Objective: Four tight turns per lap, both directions — turning becomes automatic when you do forty of them. Setup: A box made of the two end-zone dots plus two cones. Line of players at the wall, puck each for round two. Execution: Sprint to the first dot and snap a full tight turn around it. Straight-line sprint to each corner of the box, tight turn at every one. Alternate lap direction so both shoulders lead; add pucks once the feet are clean. Coaching points: Sit low INTO the turn — speed dies when you stand up. Snap the hips and eyes out of the turn first; feet follow. Two explosive strides out of every turn — that's the habit being built.
