Linear Crossover Speed Lanes
Full IceAdvanced1v0Skating/Edges
Objective: Linear crossovers — building speed by crossing over while traveling straight, the way modern skaters actually accelerate. Setup: Two lanes the length of the ice, players lined up on the goal line in each. Execution: Skate the lane in a shallow S: three crossovers drifting one way, three back the other. Never glide — feet are crossing or striding the entire length. Build to maximum speed by the red line; hold it through the far blue. Coaching points: Cross UNDER with the trailing foot — that push is where linear speed hides. Shallow angles: this is a straight-line drill with crossing feet, not a slalom. Arms drive straight ahead, not across the body.
