Neutral-Zone Wall Bank

Neutral ZoneFull IceIntermediate1v1PassingTransition
Objective: Use the wall as a teammate: bank the puck past a standup defender and hit the mate winning the race. Setup: Carrier and a partner in the neutral zone, one passive defender standing up at the red line on the wall side. Execution: Carrier attacks up the wall; the defender holds his line and closes the direct lane. Bank the puck firmly off the wall behind the defender's skates. Partner reads it, wins the race to the bank, and finishes the entry with a shot. Coaching points: Bank it FIRM — a soft bank sits in the defender's skates. Aim the wall spot, not the teammate: the angle in equals the angle out. Partner leaves on the carrier's touch, not on the bank — beat the D by anticipating.
