Outside-Edge Half-Moons

Half IceIntermediate1v0Skating/Edges
Objective: Own the outside edge — the one skaters avoid and the one every escape, turn, and mohawk lives on. Setup: Three cones in a straight line across the zone. Players in a line at the wall. Execution: Skate at the first cone, lift the inside foot, and carve a half-moon arc around it on ONE outside edge. Land, take two strides, and carve the next cone on the other foot. Progress: bigger arcs, then arcs with a puck, then eyes locked on the coach the whole way. Coaching points: Ankle rolled over, knee driving across the body — commit to the edge or it slips. Arms quiet; balance comes from the core, not the hands. The glide should be silent — scraping means you're on the flat.
