Reverse Horseshoe Flow

Full IceBeginner1v0Warm-upPassing
Objective: The classic horseshoe: skate the loop, take a pass in stride, finish — continuous flow that warms legs, hands, and the goalie. Setup: Two lines stacked in the same end corner areas, pucks with the bottom line. Goalie in the far net. Execution: First player from the top line skates the horseshoe: deep through center ice, curling across the top of the far circle. First player in the bottom line hits him in stride as he curls; passer then starts his own horseshoe. Take the pass, attack wide, shoot, and join the opposite line. Both lines flow continuously. Coaching points: Passes lead the skater — hit the tape at full stride or don't pass yet. Curl with speed; gliding through the horseshoe wastes the warm-up. Shoot in stride and stop at the net for a beat — rebound habits start in warm-up.
