Steal to the Net

O-ZoneHalf IceIntermediate3v2ForecheckShooting/Scoring
Objective: Forechecks are measured in goals — convert the wall steal into a chance before their D can reset. Setup: Two retrieving defenders vs three forecheckers. Coach dumps to the corner to start each rep. Execution: F1 forces the retrieval up the wall; F2 arrives second and picks the puck off the wall. F2 attacks the middle immediately — two seconds of disorganized defense is the window. F3 drives the net-front for the rebound; shot, crash, finish, then reset. Coaching points: The steal is step one — hesitating after it lets the defense reset. Attack off the wall on an angle toward the dots, not along the boards. F3 arrives AS the shot is released: early gets boxed out, late gets nothing.
