Tight-Turn Attack Triangle

O-ZoneHalf IceAdvanced1v0Skating/EdgesPuck Control
Objective: Three full tight turns with the puck, then straight into a shot — turning skill that ends in offense. Setup: Three cones in a triangle in the zone. Line of players high with pucks, goalie live. Execution: Carry into the triangle and snap a full tight turn around each cone — puck on the outside of every turn. Alternate forehand and backhand turns as the triangle forces direction changes. Explode out of the last turn and shoot before the hash marks. Next player leaves on the shot. Coaching points: Puck slightly ahead on the turn, body between cone and puck — cone is a defender. Speed out of the last turn IS the scoring chance — two hard strides into the release. Shoot in stride; stopping to aim gives the goalie his angle back.
