Transition Box Footwork

Half IceElite1v0Skating/Edges
Objective: Continuous forward-backward transitions around a box using mohawks — the footwork under every elite escape and retrieval. Setup: Four cones in a box. One player works at a time; next leaves when the box is clear. Execution: Forward along the top of the box; mohawk into backward down the first side — no stop, no glide. Open forward along the bottom, mohawk backward up the far side. Two laps each direction, then add a puck; the puck must never leave the blade through transitions. Coaching points: Every change is heel-to-heel through the middle — pivoting the easy way is the old habit we're killing. Speed constant the whole lap: transitions cost zero or do it again. Eyes stay inside the box on an imaginary forechecker, never on the ice.
