Warm the Hands Wall-to-Wall
Half IceBeginner1v0Warm-upPassing
Objective: The simplest warm-up that actually matters: partners passing with intent — forehand, backhand, saucer, one-touch. Setup: Partners 15 feet apart in pairs spread across the zone, one puck per pair. Execution: 20 firm forehand passes each — tape to tape, blade closed on the catch. 20 backhands each, then 10 saucer passes landing flat inside a stick-length. Finish with 30 seconds of one-touch as fast as the pair can keep clean. Coaching points: Every catch is cushioned — receiving is half of passing. Firm means firm: warm-up passes at game pace, not lobs. Feet alive the whole time — shift weight into every pass like a mini shot.
