Cone Turn & Shoot

U10U12Half IceBeginner1v0Shooting/ScoringSkating/Edges
Objective: Basic skate-and-shoot pattern: two controlled turns, head up, low shot on net. Setup: Line at the blue line with pucks, two cones staggered toward the slot. Goalie live. Execution: Carry through both cones with tight turns — puck under control the whole way. Head comes up out of the last turn to find the net. Shoot low from the slot, follow for the rebound, then back of the line. Coaching points: Tight around each cone — turn with your edges, not a big loop. Eyes up out of the final turn; puck-watchers hit cones. Low shots score at this age — aim for the pads' edges.
