Double-Layer Tips

O-ZoneHalf IceIntermediate1v0Shooting/Scoring
Objective: Two deflection layers on every point shot — high tip at the top of the slot, low tip at the crease. Setup: D at the center point, one tipper high slot, one tipper at the crease, passer with pucks on the goal line. Execution: Passer feeds the point; D shoots low and hard through both layers. High tipper attempts the first touch; anything through goes to the low tipper's blade. Rotate passer, point, high, low every five pucks. Coaching points: Tippers: blade angled DOWN, top hand firm, bottom hand soft. The high tip changes the shot's line; the low tip changes its height — different jobs. D shoots knee-height on purpose — a tippable shot beats a hard miss.
