One-Hand Reach Rails
U8U10Half IceBeginner1v0Puck Control
Objective: Top-hand-only puck control down cone rails — building the reach and control that all protection comes from. Setup: Two rails of cones across the zone. Players in a line, puck each, bottom hand OFF the stick. Execution: Down the first rail: top hand only, pushing the puck ahead on the forehand and chasing it. Around the far cone and back down the second rail on the backhand, still one hand. Round two at speed; round three with the inside leg lifted for two strides per cone. Coaching points: Chin up — the puck stays in the bottom of your vision. Push it, skate to it, catch it soft; don't dribble one-handed. The top hand steers with the wrist rolling the blade over the puck both ways.
