Rebound Pounce Box

U10U12O-ZoneHalf IceBeginner1v0Shooting/Scoring
Objective: Teach young players to expect rebounds — the first shot creates, the pouncer finishes. Setup: Shooter with pucks in the mid-slot, pouncer starting at the edge of a marked box in the low slot. Goalie live. Execution: Shooter fires a pad-height shot ON PURPOSE — this shot is meant to make a rebound. Pouncer explodes into the box on the release and buries anything loose. Five pucks, swap jobs. Score one point per rebound goal. Coaching points: Stick on the ice IN the box before the rebound lands — no backswing needed. Pouncer moves on the release, not on the save. Celebrate ugly goals — that is the whole point of this drill.
