Shooting in Stride Highway
Full IceIntermediate1v0Shooting/ScoringSkating/Edges
Objective: Release the puck without breaking stride — the shot defenders can't time because there's no wind-up tell. Setup: Lines at center on both walls with pucks; attack down the wing in waves of one. Goalie live. Execution: Carry down the wing building speed the whole way — no coasting into the shot. Release between the top of the circle and the dot, inside your normal stride rhythm. Follow the shot to the net for a rebound, then join the opposite line. Coaching points: No stutter, no glide, no extra stickhandle — the release lives inside the stride. Puck moves from wide to the front foot as the shooting-side leg drives. Pick a corner early; in stride means decided early.
