Toe Drag, Change the Angle
O-ZoneAdvanced1v0Puck ControlShooting/Scoring
Objective: The drag-and-release: pull the puck a stick-length sideways and shoot off the new angle before anyone resets. Setup: One cone at the top of the circle standing in for a shot-blocker. Shooters with pucks up high, goalie live. Execution: Carry downhill at the cone as if shooting through it. At the cone, toe drag the puck a full stick-length across your body — changing the shooting lane. Release immediately off the new angle — no extra stickhandle, no wind-up. Coaching points: The drag IS the wind-up: weight loads onto the new side during the pull. One motion — drag-shoot, not drag, settle, shoot. Goalies die on the angle change; shoot where the old angle said the post was.
