Traffic-Jam Carry Lane
Half IceIntermediate1v1Puck Control
Objective: Carry through a lane of live sticks — the middle-of-the-ice puck skills that cone drills can't teach. Setup: Three checkers spaced down a lane, each anchored in place. Carriers with pucks in a line. Execution: Carry through the lane; each checker pivots in place and poke-checks — feet planted, sticks live. Beat each stick a different way: wide, through the triangle, or with a toe drag. Lose the puck and you become a checker. Three clean lanes wins. Coaching points: Approach each checker with a plan — the same move three times gets eaten the third time. Puck moves BEFORE the poke arrives; watch the checker's bottom hand for the tell. Speed changes beat hands: slow in, explode past.
