Walk the Line — D Shots Through Traffic
O-ZoneHalf IceIntermediate1v0Shooting/ScoringSkating/Edges
Objective: Defensemen create shooting lanes with their feet, then get pucks through traffic. Setup: D at the point, screen forward at the net, passer in the corner with pucks. Execution: Corner feeds the point; D catches moving, walks laterally along the blue line. Shoot when the lane opens — through the screen, low, ON NET. Screen F battles for the tip/rebound; rotate every 5 pucks. Coaching points: Walking beats winding up — change the angle, the lane appears. Miss the net = drill resets; hitting shin pads = the D's fault, move your feet. Half-wind wrist shots arrive quicker than bombs.
