Wrap or Jam Read

O-ZoneIntermediate1v1Shooting/ScoringPuck Control
Objective: Turn the wrap into a read: the defender's post coverage decides wrap through or stop-and-jam back. Setup: Attacker starts behind the net with a puck; one defender guards the posts. Goalie live. Execution: Attacker walks the back of the net both ways, watching the defender's stick and the goalie's post lean. Defender glued to the near post: wrap hard to the far side. Defender cheating across early: stop up and jam back where he came from. Coaching points: Read the stick, not the body — the stick tells you which post is open. Change of pace sells it: walk slow, then explode around. Never pre-decide — this is a read drill, and reads happen late.
