1v1 Rolls Into 2v1

Full IceIntermediate2v1Transition
Objective: Continuous transition: every 1v1 ends with the defender outletting to a new pair — the drill never stops rolling. Setup: Goalies in both nets. Forward lines at center on both walls; D line at each blue line. Coach with pucks at center. Execution: F1 attacks D1 1v1 and finishes with a shot. The instant the shot is taken, D1 turns, retrieves a fresh puck from the coach, and outlets to the next TWO forwards — 2v1 back the other way against a new D. The 1v1 shooter sprints off; the flow repeats end-to-end with no whistles. Coaching points: D: your rep isn't over at the shot — the retrieval and first pass ARE the drill. Outlet to the winger's tape while he's moving; a slow outlet kills the 2v1. Shooters: stop at the net for one beat — rebounds count.
