Center-Ice Draw Race

Neutral ZoneFull IceIntermediate3v3FaceoffsTransition
Objective: Whistle to shot in five seconds — the center-ice draw becomes a live transition race in both directions. Setup: Two three-man units line up at center ice. Every rep starts with a real draw and ends with a shot or a clear. Execution: C wins the draw back to D1; D1's first touch goes to a winger already at top speed. The winning unit must register a shot within five seconds of the drop. Lose the draw and it flips — same race the other way. Both units stay live until a goal or a clear. Coaching points: The draw sets the race, but the wingers' first three strides win it. D1 one-touches when he can — every extra touch burns the clock. Losing centers backcheck instantly: the tie-up man becomes the first defender.
