Gate Goals 3v3

U10U12Cross-Ice / Small AreaIntermediate3v3Small-Area GamesPuck Control
Objective: 3v3 possession game where goals are cone gates scattered in the zone — heads-up hockey with no goalie to bail anyone out. Setup: Cross-ice area with three 6-foot cone gates placed at angles around the zone. Two teams of three, coach spots pucks. Execution: Score by carrying or passing the puck through any gate to a teammate — either direction counts. You cannot score on the same gate twice in a row — move the puck to a new one. 2-minute games; losers do a lap while winners rest. Coaching points: The open gate is always the one AWAY from the puck — play with your head up. Change the point of attack faster than the defenders can rotate. Defense: take away a gate with body position, not just a stick.
