3v3 Low-Zone Cycle Game

D-ZoneCross-Ice / Small AreaIntermediate3v3Small-Area GamesBattles/CompetePuck Control
Objective: Compete below the tops of the circles — protect pucks on the wall, cycle to create a net-front chance, defend with body position. Setup: Cones cap the playing area at the tops of the circles. Coach spots pucks from the half wall. 45-second shifts, next two trios step in on the whistle. Execution: Offense cycles the wall — low-to-high or corner-to-corner — until a lane to the net opens. Every goal must come from inside the home-plate area. Defenders score by breaking out through either cone gate with possession. Coaching points: Wall picks: body between the checker and the puck, chin over the puck side. Third forward is always a net-front problem — screens, tips, rebounds. Defenders: stick on puck, body on body — no fishing.
