3v5 Triangle PK
D-ZoneAdvanced5v5Penalty KillTeam Systems
Objective: Killing a two-man disadvantage: a tight triangle inside the dots that concedes the perimeter completely and blocks everything through the middle. Setup: One forward at the top of the triangle, two D at the posts/low slot. The 5v3 PP moves it around the outside. Execution: The triangle stays inside the dots — always. The top man shades between the point and the strong flank; the low two front the backdoor and the net-front. Rotate with the puck, not the players: the shape tilts strong-side a stride at a time; nobody ever lunges out of it. Trigger: any puck that touches the goal line or a killer's stick = eat seconds — wall pins, long clears, and never a hurried icing attempt up the middle. Coaching points: Use it when: it's 3-on-5 — this and shot-blocking are the whole plan; heroism is what the PP is waiting for. What beats it: patient overload passing that stretches the triangle top-to-bottom — so the low two talk constantly about who has the backdoor. The goalie owns the far post and the killers own the near seam — decide it out loud before the draw.
