Blocker's Box

U14U16U18D-ZoneIntermediate1v1Penalty Kill
Objective: Shot-blocking is positioning first, courage second — close the point lane, re-set on the pass, block square. Setup: Two PP point players move the puck along the blue line and shoot; one killer works the lanes in front. Goalie live. Execution: First point man winds up; the killer closes IN the lane — shins square, blade to blade line. Puck moves to the second point; the killer re-positions with a lateral push BEFORE the next release. Three shots per rep: blocked, deflected wide, or clean sight for the goalie all count. Rotate killers. Coaching points: Shins square to the blade — sideways blocks break feet and screen goalies. Hands and face OUT of the lane; block with pads, not palms. Never chase the pass sliding — re-set on your feet, then commit.
