Diamond PK

D-ZoneAdvanced5v5Penalty KillTeam Systems
Objective: The umbrella-killer: a diamond puts one man on the QB, wings under both flanks, and a body at the net — built to erase one-timers up top. Setup: Top of the diamond on the point QB, two wings at the dots under the flank shooters, bottom man at the crease. PP runs an umbrella or 1-3-1. Execution: The top man pressures the QB's every touch, stick in the middle so the seam to the bumper is never clean. Trigger: QB passes to a flank = the near wing flies at the shooter's release lane while the diamond rotates one click behind him. The bottom man plays 2-on-1 between net-front and backdoor — never fully committing to either until the pass is in the air. Coaching points: Use it when: the PP kills you from the flanks — the diamond takes away both one-timers and dares the low play. What beats it: the bumper in the middle and the low goal-line play — the diamond's middle is soft, so the top man's stick positioning is everything. Rotations are all-or-nothing: fly at the shooter or stay — a half-rotation screens your own goalie.
