5-Man Breakout vs Passive 1-2-2

Full IceIntermediate5v5BreakoutTeam Systems
Objective: The whole unit breaking out together against token pressure — positions, timing, options. Setup: Five attackers in breakout posture; three passive checkers in a 1-2-2. Coach spots pucks. Execution: D1 to the wall-side winger; center swings to the same side as the second option. Weak-side winger stretches; D2 trails as the escape valve. Walk it out at 50%, then live. Turnover = checkers counter to the near net. Coaching points: Wingers START on the wall at the hash marks — not floating in the middle. Center's swing times WITH the first pass, not after it. Every player's stick on the ice — five options, always.
