Chip, Chase, Support
Full IceIntermediate2v1BreakoutTransition
Objective: Beat the pinching D with a soft chip and a center who reads it early. Setup: D with pucks low, winger on the wall, center in the middle lane. A coach or player pinches down the wall on every first pass. Execution: D1 quick-ups the wall winger; the pinching D closes immediately. Winger chips it soft off the wall, behind the pinch, into space. Center reads the chip the moment the pinch commits and wins the race to the puck, carrying into the neutral zone. Coaching points: Chip soft — off the wall to space, not hammered to an icing. Winger takes the hit or spins off AFTER the chip; the puck is already gone. Center's read starts when the pinch starts, not when the chip happens.
