5v3 Two-Man Advantage Setup

O-ZoneElite5v5Power PlayTeam Systems
Objective: Five against a triangle: move the puck faster than three players can rotate, and shoot off the pass — never off the stickhandle. Setup: Point, two flanks at the circle tops, a bumper in the slot, net-front at the crease. PK sets the standard 5v3 triangle. Execution: Minimum two passes before any shot — the first pass moves the triangle, the second beats its recovery. The bumper is the kill shot: any time the triangle's top man leaves the middle, the slot one-timer is on. Trigger: low defender fronts the bumper = the backdoor at the far post opens; net-front slides across for the tap. Coaching points: Use it when: any 5v3 — but rehearse it, because 5v3s are lost to overpassing and cold sticks, not to good PK play. What beats it: your own hesitation. The triangle survives by baiting the extra pass — take the third-option SHOT when it's there. Everyone's feet are set and blades loaded before the puck arrives; a 5v3 one-timer should never need a settle touch.
