Umbrella Power Play
O-ZoneAdvanced5v5Power PlayTeam Systems
Objective: The umbrella: three shooters arced across the top, two bodies at the net — built to generate point-blank one-timers through screens. Setup: QB at the center point, two flank shooters at the tops of the circles, net-front and slot players low. PK sets a standard box. Execution: QB walks the blue line to drag the box side to side; the flanks mirror him, always one pass away with feet set to shoot. Trigger: a PK forward lunges at the QB = immediate flank pass and one-timer through the double screen. The two low players never watch — one screens the goalie's eyes, one hunts the rebound and the backdoor tap. Coaching points: Use it when: you have two legitimate one-time shooters — the umbrella exists to feed them. What beats it: an aggressive diamond that takes away both flanks — the counter is the low seam to the slot man, so keep him available, not buried. Shooters arrive loaded: blade open, weight back, shooting through the screen's hip — a placed shot beats a hard one here.
