Blind Turn Puck Race
Cross-Ice / Small AreaBeginner1v1Battles/CompeteSkating/Edges
Objective: React, find, race: players face the glass until the coach calls it — then it's a dead sprint to a puck they've never seen. Setup: Two players stand at the wall facing the boards, goalie live. Coach places a puck quietly somewhere in the zone. Execution: On 'GO', both players turn, FIND the puck, and race to it. Winner attacks the net immediately; loser backchecks and defends. Vary the puck spot every rep — corners, slot, blue line. Next pair steps up right away. Coaching points: Turn and SCAN before you sprint — three steps the wrong way loses the race. First touch attacks — the defender is still turning around. Backchecker: sprint to the NET side first, then pressure the puck.
