D-to-D to the Stretch
Full IceIntermediate1v0BreakoutPassing
Objective: Change the side with a D-to-D, then beat the whole neutral zone with one stretch pass. Setup: Two D below the circles, a stretch forward at the far blue line, a center swinging low. Coach spots pucks. Execution: D1 retrieves and moves it D-to-D — the stretch pass never comes from the retrieval side. D2 walks two steps to open the lane while the stretch F times a move across the far blue. D2 fires the stretch flat; receiver catches in stride, attacks wide, and finishes with a shot. Coaching points: Flat and hard — a stretch pass that floats gets picked at the red line. Receiver skates ONTO the puck; standing still at the line kills the play. If the lane is closed, the swing center is the outlet — never force it.
