NZ Regroup — Swing & Counter

Neutral ZoneFull IceIntermediate5v5RegroupTransition
Objective: Turn a dead neutral-zone possession into a three-wide attack with one D-to-D pass. Setup: Three forwards attacking, two D at the defensive blue line. Coach rims a puck back to the D to trigger each rep. Execution: On the trigger, all three forwards SWING low with speed — never gliding face-up. D1 to D2 changes the side while the forwards load. D2 hits the middle-swing forward in stride; attack 3-wide over the far blue. Coaching points: Swing low enough to catch the pass moving north. D-to-D FIRST — attacking the strong side is what the defense wants. Three lanes on the entry: wide, middle, wide.
