Reverse Escape Behind the Net

D-ZoneHalf IceAdvanced2v1Breakout
Objective: Use the reverse when the forechecker is on your hip — bank it back the way you came and let your partner walk out clean. Setup: D1 retrieves in one corner with a live forechecker chasing. D2 starts net-front, winger on the strong wall. Execution: D1 retrieves and skates behind the net with the forechecker on his back. D2 rotates late into the corner D1 vacated; D1 banks the reverse off the back wall to him. D2 catches facing up-ice and quick-ups the wall winger; trio exits with control. Coaching points: The reverse is a read, not a habit — only when the checker is committed to your hip. Bank it HARD — a soft reverse dies in the trapezoid and gets eaten. D2 arrives late on purpose: get there with the puck, not before it.
