Standing Box PK
D-ZoneIntermediate5v5Penalty KillTeam Systems
Objective: The foundation PK: four killers hold a compact box around the house, concede the perimeter, and block everything that comes inside. Setup: Two forwards high, two D low, box no wider than the dots. PP moves the puck around the outside. Execution: The box slides as one with every pass — strong side tightens toward the puck, weak side shades to the slot; the shape never stretches. Sticks own the seams: forwards deny the pass into the middle, D deny the backdoor and box out the net-front on every shot. Trigger to bite: a bobbled puck, a pass to a backhand, or a puck rimmed to a corner — nearest killer pressures HARD, then re-forms the box. Coaching points: Use it when: teaching the kill, protecting late leads, or whenever your killers are caught tired — the box asks for discipline, not legs. What beats it: seam passes through the middle and screened point shots — so the box's number one rule is sticks flat in lanes at all times. Clear with purpose: 200 feet, off the glass, or eat it on the wall — never a soft chip up the middle.
