Three-Pass Breakout Chain
Full IceIntermediate1v0PassingBreakout
Objective: Connect the three passes that carry a team from its own net to the attacking blue line. Setup: D behind the net with pucks, winger on the wall at the hash marks, center mid-zone, stretch forward at the far blue line. Execution: D wheels out from behind the net and hits the wall winger — pass one. Winger touches to the center swinging with speed — pass two. Center carries the middle lane and finds the stretch forward for the entry and shot — pass three. Coaching points: Every pass leads the next man NORTH — never to his back foot. The center's swing is timed with pass one; late swing kills the chain. No gliding between touches — the chain is only as fast as its slowest skater.
