Two-Touch Quick-Up 2v1
Full IceBeginner2v1TransitionBreakout
Objective: The simplest transition in hockey done right: D to wall, wall to middle, attack 2v1 — two touches and the puck is out. Setup: D with pucks below the goal line, winger on the wall, center in the middle. One defender waits at the far blue line (passive first, live later). Execution: D quick-ups the wall to the winger's tape. Winger touches it to the center in stride — two touches, zone exited. Winger and center attack 2v1: pass or shoot, then both stop at the net for the rebound. Coaching points: Winger: feet pointed up ice BEFORE the puck arrives, catch it moving. The 2v1 rule for beginners: make the defender choose, then do the other thing. Shooter far pad, partner backdoor — rebounds win 2v1s.
