Wall Protect & Roll-Off
D-ZoneIntermediate1v1Puck ControlBattles/Compete
Objective: Use the wall as a teammate: protect through contact, feel the checker, and roll off into space. Setup: Attacker with a puck on the wall, checker applying real pressure, support player in the mid-slot. Execution: Attacker holds the puck on the wall-side hip with the checker leaning on him. On the coach's call, roll OFF the pressure — spin away from the checker's push, not into it. Escape toward the middle and hit the support player; rotate all three roles. Coaching points: Feel the checker with your body and read which way he's leaning — roll opposite. Puck stays glued to the far hip until the instant you spin. Exit with your eyes up — the roll-off means nothing if you miss the open man.
